Rodney Chalton

Volunteer

There are not enough words to describe the incredible work done by Rodney Chalton in our Community. He is, without doubt, the most unconditional volunteer at CSS. Thank you, Rodney, for teaching us that everything is possible when there is a will! God bless you

Rodney has been supporting our cause for at least one year now, and he has always provided us unconditional support. He is the sort of person who is always ready to help, no matter what is required and when it is required. He goes from driving to picking and unloading trucks, packing hampers, delivering arranged food and even, he makes time to make appearances in some of our marketing videos. He’s always on board!

We are more than thankful for having him at CSS; His determination and commitment towards our cause are unstoppable!

Rita

Volunteer

As a kind and warm soul, she always cares for those she crosses path with. Her spontaneity and genuine personality make our days perkier at CSS, having all share tears of joy and happiness with her since 2018. She is more than a colleague for us; she is the lovely sister who always wears bright colours in her hijab.

Maryanne

Volunteer

Maryanne started supporting our cause when the latest outbreak began, and ever since then, she has been working hand in hand with other community members. She has a lovely personality, always caring about others and giving the extra mile for those who need it the most. If you have had a tough time, Maryanne is the person to approach. Without lying, you will have a good laugh and leave with a big smile. She is excellent at multitasking, and her organisational and time management skills are indisputable. She supports mainly the Village Pantry, and we hope we will still see her around every now and then.

Thank you for your unconditional support, and we all wish you the best in this new opportunity you have just started. Remember, CSS will always be open for you.

Lucia Desausa

Work Development Order Planner

Lucia is one of those volunteers who joined us a few months ago, and now is an integral part of the team. Lucia came into our lives one fine afternoon about four months ago, to lend a hand as she firmly believes in giving back to society, and found her ideals aligning with CSS’s values. Her passion for serving the community shone through especially during the latest outbreak of the pandemic when she took a leadership role in recruiting her friends and family to contribute to our cause. It has been an honour to work with such a hardworking trustworthy and efficient Soul.

Her people list skills and her abilities to sort, pick and pack CSS’s food hampers with the greatest level of care and love are unmatchable. Thank you so much Lucia for the incredible work you do! God bless you.

Ibrahim Kocic

CSS Village Chef

Ibrahim, most commonly known as ‘the Master chef’, is a kind gentleman at Bankstown. He is a former chef, who spoils everyone in our centre with delightful cakes and savoury snacks. Whenever we have a bbq, guess who is on the grill? His humour and team-building values are one to none; he is such a great human who we all have had the pleasure to meet and call a friend for the past 18 months. Among the numerous things he does to keep us all happy and smiley, he supports our operations by picking and delivering rescued food from our sponsors to our centre and from there to the most vulnerable members.

Catalina joined our volunteer team right after COVID-19 hit our city. She came across our services through our efforts to supply emergency food relief services to International Students. She is the Latin spirit of our team, always laughing, singing, and dancing. Her exotic accent, friendly smile and cheeky personality makes our days brighter!

She once relied on services like those offered at CSS and today, with a big smile on her face, she encourages everyone to come together, and as a family unit, help anyone under a vulnerable and challenging situation.
